Womanchild
Social Media GraphicsWomanchild is a radio show born through WRGW. We represent an energy, the idea of person who is regressed in their age but doesn’t express the typical “man child” tendencies. We don’t live in our mom’s basement (right now), we don’t project our emotional immaturity onto hopeful women, or victimize ourselves at the consequence of others.
Who Is Womanchild?
Womanchild is simultaneously a woman and a child while truly being neither, she is her own being. Womanchild grew up online, who enters her 20s expecting a idilic tumblr fantasy only to be met with exhausting corporate repetition and boys who are mean.
“Her bedroom floor is a vomited pinterest board with dust and six borrowed shirts from a friend and two from men she no longer talks to. Her spotify is a work of art worthy of the moma. She has trouble remembering to call her mom. She is, all at once, shopping for business casual attire, listening to Fiona Apple in the car, pushing she ash from her cigarette that’s fallen onto her thrifted bedside table into a heart shape, and drunk vomiting behind a bush in the park next to her middle school, and making pasta for her beloved friends.” -Hannah Krantz, 1/3 of Womanchild
Our icon artists include Fiona Apple, Boy Genius, Luna Li, Lana Del Rey, Lorde, Florence + The Machine, and more.
(Womanchild only plays non-male artists.)
I was able to use our show as weekly outlet for design sprints. I would take the hour before our show to try to make the best promo graphic I could, making sure to keep it adaptive for Instagram posts and stories. I was able to curate a brand identity for us, feeding off of all of our aesthetics as well as the picture of the womanchild that we were collectively forming. Imagery like cigarettes, red lip stick, and curated mess, intrinsically indicative of some of one of our most influential artists, Lana Del Rey.
